In view of the increasing number of cases of corona’s new omicron variant, France has announced a ban on travel by people coming from Britain on Friday. Only 24 hours were given to enforce the ban. As part of the strictures, tourism and business trips from the UK will be completely closed and passengers coming from the UK will have to show the negative report of the 24-hour-old RTPCR test.

Minutes after the announcement, millions of people who arrived in France to celebrate Christmas struggled to return home. Cars lined up across all borders, including the french city of Dover, with Britain. There were about 20 lakh people. Similar panic was witnessed at the airport along the Dover port where 7 lakh people had gathered.
By Christmas, 4.1 million people had to travel to France every day
Britain receives a record 93,000 new cases in 24 hours. France imposed a 48-hour isolation on visitors due to the corona blast.
The sudden ban will affect the travel plans of families and others in both the countries. 4.1 million people were going to and from every day till Christmas.
Some passengers have questioned the political lying of the move.
The European Commission said pcr tests should be made mandatory for coming to the EU.
